Lorelei Giddings, Oboe

I have been in the orchestra since the late 1980s.

Being in this orchestra has been a great experience. We play great literature, we have remarkable players, and we have a wonderful audience.

I grew up in Chisago City, Minnesota on a dairy farm, and we always had music in our home. After I finished college (English Literature) at Moorhead State University, I joined the United States Army and played in the Heidelberg 33rd Army Band for several years, and when I returned to Minnesota, to do another round of study in Music at the University of Minnesota, I was also a member of the 451st Reserve Army Band at Fort Snelling.

I’ve played with many regional orchestras including the Fargo Moorhead Symphony, Lacrosse Symphony, Southwest Symphony, and many Twin Cities orchestras.

I teach oboe at Minneapolis Community and Technical College and at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
